History:

Mangan Arabians opened its doors in 1987. Located at that time in Longmont, Colorado, Mangan Arabians soon established itself as a presence in the local and National show arenas. Mangan Arabians’ owner/manager Chuck Mangan had trained many Regional and National Champions in the early to mid-80's. Mangan’s first National title was earned aboard Long’s Peak Arabians’ purebred gelding My Sahm when the pair was named US National Top Ten in Open Western Pleasure in 1983. When the Longs Peak facility was closed in 1992, Mangan Arabians moved a few miles to the South and relocated in Franktown, Colorado, where it has remained since.

To say that the training and lesson programs at Mangan Arabians are diverse is quite an understatement. Over the years, Mangan Arabians’ horses and clients have garnered local, Regional, and National wins in disciplines ranging from Western Pleasure to Show Hack and from Country English Pleasure to Hunter/Jumper. A very strong common thread, however, runs through the heart of this diverse training operation--that being Mangan Arabians’ firm dedication to the junior and amateur rider and their horses. There is an undeniable emphasis here on juniors and amateurs and a furthering of their riding education. Mangan Arabians' training approach is very much a "hands-on" program where clients are encouraged to handle and tack up their own horses. They are encouraged to take twice weekly lessons and as much time is spent as possible teaching and re-emphasizing overall horsemanship and enjoyment of their horses. The health, welfare, and well-being of the horses in Mangan Arabians’ care always comes well before the pursuit of show ring ribbons and titles.

Mangan Arabians travels to approximately 10-15 Arabian shows per year, including Scottsdale, Canadian, Youth, and U.S. Nationals. Many of our clients travel only to the local shows in our immediate area, while others often travel out of state to attend the larger Regional and National shows. We have several clients for whom showing is not a priority at all. They simply enjoy riding their horses and taking lessons on a regular basis. We encourage riders of all levels, whether they have any show ring aspirations or not, to contact us. We’re confident we have a program for you!

Mangan Arabians offers dedication to both horse and rider, the finest in service and programs, and all at a competitive price. We invite your inquiries regarding our available training and lesson programs.
