Chuck Mangan: Chuck Mangan began training horses professionally at the age of 17. As a young child, he rode primarily hunters and jumpers, but as a teenager he was drawn to the world of western riding. After college, he was operating a public training facility in Arvada, Colorado, which catered primarily to Quarter Horses and Paints. Although he gave lessons to several different clients who owned Arabians, it wasn't until 1978 that he attended his first Arabian show at the request of one of his clients. Before long, he had a few Arabians and Half-Arabians in training and was exhibiting them throughout the state. By 1982, he was training Arabians and Half-Arabians exclusively, operating Longs Peak Training Center in Longmont, Colorado, and Mangans horses and riders were accumulating Regional and National titles at shows all over the country. |

He serves on several AHA Committees including Hunter/Jumper, Working Western, Youth, and the Futurity Commission. Additionally, he holds positions on the AHA Ethical Practice Review Board and the Education and Evaluation Commission. Mangan also sits on the board of the Colorado Horse Park, site of the 2008 FEI North American Young Riders Championships. |
